🤠 Hire for Mindset, Not Just Skills
Ask candidates about the last time they took extra care of something that wasn’t theirs. Listen for pride, initiative, and attention to detail. You’re looking for people who already act like stewards.

🔍 Make "Owner-Level Care" Concrete
Walk new hires through a real job site — a car, a home, a yard. Point out what an average worker might ignore. Then show what an owner would fix, wipe, or straighten. Name these behaviors:
For cars: edges, vents, glass, corners, final walkaround.
For homes: high-touch areas, odors, corners, final room scan.
For yards: gate latches, edging, debris removal, final sweep.

Train them to ask aloud: “If this was mine, would I be happy?” before they finish.

✅ Create a Simple, Non-Negotiable Checklist
Build a repeatable checklist that reinforces pride and consistency. Keep it short, visual, and tied to customer satisfaction. Examples:
Auto Detail: 
Final walkaround, glass streak check, vent dusting.
Cleaning: Odor check, corner scan, light switch wipe.
Lawn Care: Gate closed, edges trimmed, debris cleared.

👥 Use Shadowing and Role Play
Have new workers shadow your best person. Then reverse it — watch the new worker explain each step back to you. If they can teach it, they understand it.
🔄 Close the Loop with Feedback
Do surprise inspections.
Text or tell them specific wins and misses.
Reward owner-level care publicly.
Correct shortcuts privately and immediately.
